Toe rings were very popular in India, but lately the trend has died off. Toe rings are beginning to come back around though. Toe rings are beginning to gain some popularity with women in America. Some toe rings are worn on the upper parts of the toe, while others are worn on the lower part. In India some of the toe rings were so large that they could not have been worn comfortably.

Lip rings have also been around since ancient times. Today they are merely an ornament, but years ago tribesmen would wear small green tone into their lips; every stone signified an enemy killed. In Mexico different objects let into ones lips signified their rank. In Alaska girls would wear small stones in their lips. Once the woman was married the small stones were replaced by much larger plates.
